Week 3: Global Education: Tools and Approaches Online PD

Hello Learners,

Welcome to Week 3! This week I suggest you start Unit 3: Article Analysis. In this unit, we focus on understanding the approach to Global Education through 1) Global Competence 2) Web 2.0 Tools 3) Diverse Literature.

By the end of this week, you should also have a good idea for the recorded session you will hold. Remember you are advocating for student and school success by sharing resources, ideas, and strategies through an online platform. In the recorded presentation, we are looking for the use of web tools to share strategies and also to interact/maybe even collaborate with online participants. Possible interactive tools include q&a tools, chat boxes, or simply talking over the microphone. Our emphasis is the use of web tools to empower the presentation instead of just a recording tool.

Here are the requirements for Unit 5 recorded session:

  • Your presentation must be 20 minutes minimum.

  • You must have online participants (faculty, colleagues, administration, state/district) attending your session.

  • You must have some interaction between presenter and participants

  • Shares resources, ideas, and strategies that advocate for student and school success. Bonus to support with research!

  • The presentation must be recorded. The recorded session is an essential component of the course portfolio.

Here are this week's assignment reminders:

  1. Complete Unit 2: Domain 4, Function 3 Reflection

  2. Complete Unit 3: Article Analysis #1: Global Competence

  3. Complete Unit 5: Step 3: Colleague Planning Reflection

Have a great day!
