Week 1 : Global Education: Tools and Approaches Online PD

Aloha everyone,

Every week, I will email you a list of suggested activities for the week. The pacing will encourage you to complete about two assignments every week. The suggested pacing guide is also available to you in the table of content in your portfolio. This is meant to keep you on track so that you aren't stressed about getting everything done at the last minute. Please feel free to work ahead.

Unit 1 & 2  focus on understanding Domain 4 (Facilitating Improvement in Instruction and Student Learning) of the Teacher Leader Standards. Understanding Domain 4 of the Teacher Leader Standards not only helps you understand teaching and learning, but each function serves as a guide in helping you model an attitude of continuous learning and reflective practice individually and collaboratively. Unit 5 action plan is "the big project" for this course. Getting started earlier is a crucial factor in completing the course requirements by the portfolio due date.

Here are Week 1 Assignment Reminders:

  1. Make a copy of the portfolio template. Instructions are in this slide deck: https://goo.gl/sZBbGy

  2. Complete this form with a copy of your portfolio: https://goo.gl/p7676H. This will ensure I have a copy of your portfolio.

  3. Review Pre-Course Work steps 1-9 found on the table of contents of your portfolio. This section overviews the units of the course, along with tips and hints on how to use the resources provided.

  4. Complete Unit 1: Pre-Course Survey

  5. Complete Unit 2: Domain 4, Function 1 Reflection

  6. Review Unit 5 Action Plan,: https://goo.gl/TPPKtn

If you have any questions, please feel free to email.

Happy Learning!
